Private sales
Many of the best Jockey sons have been sold privately, particularly during the Foot and Mouth restrictions on Auctions in 2001. It has always been our policy to keep the value of private sales private! There have been a few great bulls that also left the farm before we got a chance to get a camera on them.
Females
Very few females have been sold out of the first three crops. Therefore the first three crops of heifers have been retained to join the herd. They have proved to be outstanding in every respect. Each one has outperformed her mother in terms of looks, figures and milking ability.
Since we have been absent from the showring since 1999, no Jockey females had been shown until the Royal Welsh Show of 2003, where we showed two in calf heifers:-
